My Baby turns 6!

Lauren wanted a new bike for her birthday and I thought it would be fun to get a beach cruiser bike. As I was surfing the web I found a beautiful banana seat bike. I just had to get it for her. Oh how I loved my banana seat bike. You could ride all day with your best friend on the back. We drove up to the house and there she was sparkling in the sunlight and Lauren jumped out of the car and ran up to it so excited. She loved the new bike. Kevin put the bike together and the seat was a little high but she didn't care she wanted to ride her bike. She got mad when she had to get off and lower the seat. She asked Kevin how long it would take and he said maybe 10 minutes and she said "Oh I don't care if it's to high, that is to long I want to ride it now". Does she sound like anyone we know..... We went to dinner where ever she wanted to go and she wanted to go to the place where you use the phone to order (Training Table) We went to dinner stuffed ourselves with cheese fries and then she wanted to come back home so she could ride her bike.

Lauren is so full of life. She loves to play with everyone and gets very disappointed if she is left out. She has taught me so much about life and how to just enjoy it. She loves to give you hugs and kisses all the time and she tells me all the time if I have a cute outfit on or if my hair looks cute. She loves it when you complement her first. She is differently 6 going on 20! Happy Birthday little "L"

Brianhead

We loaded everyone up and headed on down to the cabin to hopefully find some cooler weather... Oh it was a lovely 75 degrees down there. It was still a little to hot for me at night but I made it. The kids had so much fun hiking, playing in the old cabin down the hill, building forts, roasting marshmellows, putting on a music show for us but most of all playing with their cousins. It was so much fun to play cards with my mom, sister and dad. Kevin isn't much for games but we finally found one he liked and could beat me at. Aside from cute Katelyn not wanting to sleep AT ALL it was a very pleasant time. I got to hold Katelyn and rock her for a good hour in the wee hours of the morning and it took me back to when my kids were babies and you could just hold them and they would just stare at you. Oh how I miss those moments. I love going to the cabin and playing a mad game of nerts! I wish my older sister Angie and brother Russell could have been there with us. We spent so much time down there when we were growing up and now my kids get to build those memories to.

Putting on a show for us

Boating

The weather hasn't been that great on the days we can go boating, but we finally got out. Melisa came with her kids and Katelyn loved loved loved the tube. She got so mad when we stopped. So we had to keep on riding. The kids have so much fun on the boat. Everyone is trying to learn to waterski or wakeboard and they almost have it! Now if I could just keep the boat straight when I try to pull them out of the water.... Stay on target. Here are a few pictures of the kids playing around in the water. I love the memories we are creating for the kids.

San Diego

OH how I love the beach, the sun, and sand in my flip flops. What could be better? Kevin and I went to San Diego for his brother's graduation from medical school. We went a few days early so we could enjoy the beach. We stayed at the Catamaran in San Diego which is right on Mission Bay and one street over from the beach. Here is a view of the beach from our room.

Playing at the beach.

The sunset on the beach.... Perhaps we should have had some other random person take our picture, but you get the point
We walked down the beach as the sunset and I just love all the colors even in the night.
We then headed up to La Jolla to meet up with Kevin's family. We went to the beach again with them and enjoyed playing with all of his brother's kids. He made it through medical school with 5 kids!!! Wow.

We then went to the Graduation which I have to say was really neat. It was fun to listen to them say their oath to being doctors. His Brother walked to get his diploma with all 5 of his kids and the whole entire crowd cheered and clapped for him. We are very proud of him and wish him and his family good luck in Arizona being a Surgeon.

FAMILY

If you don't believe in ghosts, you've never been to a family reunion. ~Ashleigh Brilliant

OK I know, I am terrible at keeping up with this blog. I will work on that. We had our Family reunion this weekend. We have the HOLT family reunion every Memorial Weekend. It used to be down south in Enterprise, then St. George and now they seem to always be up here in Salt Lake. I have so many wonderful memories of loading up the old Buick regal and heading on down south. It was so fun to see 1st, 2ND and I'm sure 3rd cousins. My grandmother had 8 kids in her family so all of them and then all of there kids and then all of their kids would come. I can remember running around on some cool rocks can't remember the name of them. My grandma and her sisters would make flowers out plastic bags and we would take these flowers to the HOLT family grave. It was a long drive and it was always hot. My parents would tell me about the people that were buried there and for the live of me can't remember one story. So I think it was today listening to my dads talk in church of hearing his memories of his father that makes me want to know more about my grandmother and grandfathers life. I know my grandmother was very close to her family. But I want to know about how they fell in love, how the suffered through the hard times, how they grew old together. My grandfather died when I was 18 and I still can remember that day as if it was yesterday. He was a wonderful wonderful man. Every grandchild thought they were his favorite, and yes I still believe its me. He was so so considerate of others. He was always working on something. Tinkering in the garage or in the yard. As I watch Kevin tinker on his trucks I can't help but think of my grandpa. I still remember the first time I hung out with Kevin I was amazed at how he could fix things. I can remember my grandpa's soap that he had in his bathroom. It was that hard lava soap to wash the grease off his hands. His hands were so rough. But you loved to hold them. Because they were such strong but gentle hands. They were hands that would do anything for you. I can remember his whistle. I love him so much and wish he was still here with us. But he left behind a part of him with my dad. Who like him can fix anything. Who takes care of stuff before you even know it needs to be taken care of. My father was always there for me. He took me to soccer practice every week. He came to every single soccer game. I started soccer at 6 or 7 and played until my senior year. And he was always there. I remember riding in the back of his big Diesel engine truck to get a Slurpee after my games. Riding in the back of the truck to our cabin, or California. I remember when I could hear his truck down at the end of the street of him coming home for work and I was so excited for him to come home. I hope I can pass on the strength that my grandpa and dad have shown me and how to serve others as they have. To my Grandpa on this memorial day, thank you for serving your country, your wife and kids but most of all for serving me. To my dad thank you for being just like your dad.

MOAB again....

Yes we love to go to Moab every chance we get. In April we had some time to go down so we headed out. It was a kindof warm a couple of days down there so I was able to work on my tan but it did turn cold and very windy on us. We had so much fun. I love to be outdoors and sit around a camp fire. But most of all I just love spending time with Kevin.

I love to see the different arches there

This was a really neat cave we hiked up to.

Kevin showing how steep this drop off really is.

Emma Turns 9

So where is the time going???? Emma wanted to have a bowling party this year so we headed off to the bowling lanes with 15 girls! Wow that was fun.... Emma loved having all her classmates there and some from cheer, her brothers and sister and cousins there. She got so many wonderful gifts. She is a sweet sweet girl and has many friends. Emma has a smile and laugh that you can't help but smile with her. She loves to be with her mother non-stop. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this won't last forever to saver the moments she wants to be by me. She is so helpful around the house and with the other kids. She enjoys teaching. She loves to read to her little sister and help her with her books. It is amazing how grown up she is getting and how she cares for everyone. Happy Birthday sweetheart I love you!

Opening up a webkinz.. clearly excited about that
